What an idea it is to spread IDEAS that are worth spreading!
TEDxOOBSchool is an independently organized TEDx event exclusively for the student community. The up coming Seventh edition, TEDxOOBSchool2023 is to be held onsite on 06/05/2023 at Our Own English High school, Sharjah - Boys.
This youth attempt is in expectation of inviting the attention of the world on beautiful ideas that may impact life and help the human kind live impressively leaving an indelible imprint for the posterity. This indeed will invite the attention of thinking minds that will in turn, ignite and extend dialogues.
The Theme of TEDxOOBSchool2023 is Alternate Realities
Delving deep into the quest of a parallel universe might be helpful in managing the familiar universe that we know. Discoveries and Inventions have been happening at the most unexpected times. Such mysterious realms like hyperspace, time travel and fantasy multiverse hold a charm specifically for youngsters
A good example of a diverse line up can be seen in this TEDGlobal 2009 program. Note how the talks vary in subject – music, science, biodiversity, industrial design, and food. o Duration of talk: 2-7 minutes
o Age Group: 13 to 18 years.
o No commercial agenda: Speakers should not promote their own products, books, or businesses.
o Avoid pseudoscience: TED and TEDx are platforms for showcasing and explaining genuine advances in science, and it is important we retain the respect of the scientific community. Speakers should avoid the misuse of scientific language to make uncorroborated claims.
o No talks with an inflammatory political or religious agenda, nor for polarizing “Us vs. Them” language. We seek to build consensus and provide outside-the-box thinking, not to revisit familiar, unresolvable disputes on these topics.
o Your Talk: The talks should be fashioned on original ideas, methods, schemes and plans. We would intend to see talks with ideas that are new, futuristic and pragmatic enough to offer solutions to the problems/challenges at present and in the future.
